I&#8217;m actually using the maneki neko from this <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mpi-sb.mpg.de\/%7Ebelyaev\/soft\/ply\/gallery.html\">repository<\/a>. It&#8217;s not really big compared to <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.blockos.org\/post\/2006\/10\/06\/Stanford%203d%20models%20repository\">stanford bunny<\/a> or <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.blockos.org\/post\/2006\/10\/06\/Stanford%203D%20model%20repository\">happy buddha<\/a>. As i don&#8217;t need any lighting, i decided to use point normal as color. Here&#8217;s the result :<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" title=\"Maneki neko\" href=\"http:\/\/blog.blockos.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/11\/neko2.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Maneki Neko (small)\" id=\"image27\" title=\"Maneki Neko (small)\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.blockos.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/11\/neko2_s.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It took 25 minutes to render this image on my amd64 3500+. The model contains 62385 points and 124677 triangles. Not that much&#8230; But it&#8217;s brute force raytracing for the moment.<br \/>\nI also discovered that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.xyzrgb.com\">XYZ-RGB<\/a> is offering free texture materials. Maybe i should use them for the displacement map.<\/p>\n<p>On the 8bit side, the pcengine tracker is going well. The instrument routines may be finished next week.
